William (Bill) Thomas Whalen, born November 28, 1955, passed peacefully into the Lord's arms on the morning of December 6, 2025 surrounded by those he loved most in Plattsburgh, New York. Bill was born and raised in Witherbee, New York to Peter and Carol (Ruth) Whalen and was one of nine siblings.
During his lifetime, he worked for Twinstate Technologies for many years where he made lifelong friendships. Bill enjoyed playing golf, rooting for the Giants, and making people laugh. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bill’s impact on his community was undeniable and he spent countless hours volunteering at his church. In his youth, Bill could be found fishing, hunting, and bowling.
Those who knew Bill can attest to his kind, generous heart and willingness to help anyone who needed him. His smile and laughter was infectious and will be deeply missed by many.
He is predeceased by both of his parents, as well as his brother Mark and sister Cheryl. His memory lives on in his daughter Emilie (Kyle) Meoli as well as his brothers Paul (Jodi) Whalen, Peter (Renee) Whalen, Rick (Linda) Whalen, Joe (Linda) Whalen, sisters Debbie (Kevin) Sieger, Marylou (Tom) Scozzafava among countless nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11th, from 5-7 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Dec. 12th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, NY.
