William Smith

William “Bill” Smith passed away unexpectedly in Moriah NY on June 20, 2023, he was 62 years old. Bill is survived by his children Jaime Smith (Moriah, NY) and Miranda Carpenter {Jeremy} (Mineville, NY); William Smith (Ticonderoga, NY) and Mya Smith (Ticonderoga, NY); Sister Esther McKown (Moriah, NY); grandchildren Calum St. Dennis, Jarod McDougal, Austin Drake, Hayden Tromblee, Hunter Brown, and Jenna Carpenter and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Luella Smith; Wife Carolyn Smith;  Daughter Jennifer Smith and Sister & Brother-in-Law Marion and Allen Smith. 

Bill was born on September 12,1960  in Ticonderoga, NY to William and Luella Smith. Bill attended Moriah Center School and worked as a laborer most of his life. He loved his family and was a friend to many. Bill had a smile that could light up a room, loved to make jokes and had a contagious laugh. 

 Bill enjoyed working on cars and would be the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed mechanical or body work on their car (his Dad taught him well). He loved to sing and listen to rock-n-roll music.  Later in life he began to enjoy woodworking. 

His calling hours are scheduled for Monday June 26th from 5p-7p at the Harland Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday June 27th at 10am, with his daughter Jennifer, at the South Moriah Cemetery.
