Vito was a dedicated member of the Essex County Sheriff Department rising to the rank of Sergeant before retiring in 2005 due to a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. It has been said by many that Vito respected others and they, in turn, respected him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to play cards and enjoyed his lotto scratchers. He spent many hours enjoying the company of his children and watching grandchildren grow and flourish. He loved sports of almost any kind.

He is predeceased by his wife Denise, father Ceasar Velsini, Catherine and Lewis Frazier as well as many other members of the Velsini family who helped to raise him to be the kind, gentle and wonderful man that he was.
Vito did not want a lot of “fanfare” during this time. There will be no viewing or funeral just graveside services. It is with great dignity and respect that Vito will be buried with military honors and recognition by the Essex County Sheriff Department.
Please join the family & friends graveside Thursday, 5 September 2024 at the Saint Peter and Paul cemetery in Moriah New York at 11 a.m. to say good-bye to this real life modern hero. Vito wanted everyone to wear their favorite team jersey whether it is from their school or a professional team. He will be wearing his favorite Mets tee shirt. Join us at the Mineville VFW after services for a reception honoring Vito.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the organization of your choice in his name.
With love & respect, Charlene Velsini
