Vaughn Arno Obituary

Mineville

Vaughn E. (Stevenson) Arno from Mineville, NY passed away peacefully Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 84.

She was born in Mineville, NY on November 30, 1936 to DeElda M. (Colburn) Stevenson and Jacob V. Stevenson.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles R. Arno of Mineville, NY. She is also survived by her 5 children, Charles (Anna) Arno of Mineville, NY, Diane Arno/Foote of Thurman, NY, Christine Arno of Port Henry, NY, Timothy Arno of Mineville, NY and Alan Arno of Crown Point, NY; a brother Robert (Harriet) Stevenson of Mineville, NY and several grandchildren, great and great, great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her mother, father, brother Duane and sister-in-law Dianna Stevenson.

Vaughn lived a full life as a loving mother first and foremost, a dedicated housewife and homemaker. She treasured and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana and Great Grama. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She took great pride and compassion in her visits with her family and friends. She had a love for Bingo and would travel all over in search of that “big jackpot”. We’re guessing the true jackpots were won at the many yard sales she loved to go to. She was a master chef in the kitchen. One could try a million pies and not a single crust could compare to her flakey crust. Vaugh took great pride in her crocheting and knitting talents. Many socks, hats, mittens and blankets were made with love and given out on her most favorite holiday, “Christmas”, the lights, the tree, the first until the last snowfall. She cherished the entire season. Vaughnny as her husband Charles called her, was a wonderful woman that was loved so dearly, is missed dearly and will always be remembered.

There will be no calling hours per Vaughn’s request.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
