Tonya (Sherman) Karkoski

Tonya (Sherman) Karkoski, age 41 passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 23, 2026 at home, leaving a void that can never be filled. Born on March 14, 1984 in Ticonderoga NY to Richard and Tammy Sherman. She brought light and laughter to everyone she met.

Tonya was a vibrant spirit known for her passion of cooking, infectious laughter, and love for others. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter and sister who treasured her time with family above all else. She lived life to the fullest. Her family remembers her as a strong, resilient, and unstoppable force full of strength and courage.

Although Tonya is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her husband Robert Karkoski and her 3 children; Jacob (Jack) Karkoski, Phoebe Karkoski and Cooper Karkoski; Parents Richard and Tammy Sherman; brother Richard Sherman (Ashley); sister Alexis Sherman (David); several nieces and nephews 

Preceded in death by grandparents, Duane Stevenson, Dianne Stevenson, Richard Sherman Sr.; aunt Kelly (Sherman) Hughes

Services will be held Tuesday, Feb 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, and at Saint Patrick’s Church on Wednesday, Feb 4, at 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life following at Mineville VFW 12 to 4 p.m.
