Thomas D. McKown 67 of Moriah passed away at CVPH Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.
Born in Ticonderoga Feb. 17, 1954, the son of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Helms) McKown.
Tom or "Watson" as he was known to friends, was a life-long resident of Moriah. As a young man he followed his Dad into construction and worked on many construction projects over the years. He loved driving and working on big machinery. At home, Tom worked hard on his old Ford tractor, with which he harrowed and tilled many fields aside from his own. He always looked forward to gardening and then enjoyed sharing vegetables with neighbors and friends. Tom was a good man and a friend who lived life his way.
Tom is survived by his daugher Bobbie Jo (Wayne) Simard, and grand children Dillion, Morgan and Shana and their families including 8 great grand childern, his sister Fran (Eric)Wilhelmson, and brothers John (Deborah) and Philip. And, many nieces and nephews.
Tom was predeceased by his parents and brother Peter.
The family wishes to thank the excellent ICU team in Plattsburgh and give special thanks to the dialysis nurses at Elizabethtown hospital for their thoughtfulness and care of Tom.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tom can be made to the Moriah Ambulance Squad.
A service for Tom will be held at St. Patricks, Friday, Feb 11th at 11am. Immediately followed by a reception at the Parish Hall.
