Crown Point NY and Motijo Spain
Thomas Richard LaFave born March 10, 1955, to Roland and Joyce LaFave, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2023 at his family’s home in Crown Point.
Tom graduated from Crown Point Central School in 1973. At which time he joined the United States Air Force. He proudly served until his retirement in 1997. During his commission, he was deployed to the Gulf War and earned the rank of Master Sergeant.
Upon retiring he settled in Motijo Spain with his wife Charo where they lived happily until her passing.
Tom enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, fishing, and travel. Tom will most be remembered for his love of music. An avid guitar player, he had created a play list that could entertain any crowd for over an hour. He was bilingual, speaking fluent English and Spanish. He spent many years teaching his Spanish friends and neighbors to speak English.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, his wife, his brother Philip LaFave, and his sister Jeanne McMurtry. Survivors include his niece Jodi Gibbs (Rory) and his nephew Jamie Duval (Melissa) and their children along with his Queen Aunt and several beloved cousins. He is also survived by his wife’s family and his special friend Laly.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00am, Sacred Heart Church in Crown Point NY. Final internment will take place immediately following mass with full military honors.
