Thomas J. Boyle

Thomas “Turk” J. Boyle, 73, of Port Henry, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 3rd, 2020 with his loving family by his side.

Turk was born November 28, 1946 to Ralph and Margaret (Hodskin) Boyle. He was one of eight children.

Turk enlisted in the United States Army in 1966, as an Army Infantrymen. He spent much of his military time in Baumholder, Germany.

Upon returning home he went to work as a mechanic for Velez Marina in Port Henry, NY. This is where he developed his love for boating and Lake Champlain.

Turk found his calling, as foreman for the Village of Port Henry, where he worked for nearly 29 years before retiring.

Turk also dedicated 54 years of community service to the Port Henry Volunteer Fire Department.

Turk is survived by his beloved significant other Joyce, his daughter, Lauren, son-in-law Jason, step-daughter Chrissy (Richard) and step-son Ronnie (Tracey). Not only did he take pride in his daughter, he absolutely cherished his granddaughter Julieann, as well as his step grandchildren Taylor, Isabella and Ava. He is also survived by his sister Linda (Gary) St. Pierre and three brothers, William (Margaret) Boyle, Eddie (Audrey) Boyle and Richard Boyle; along with his very special mother-in-law Laura Groshans, many brother and sister-in-laws; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his loving wife Julie, his parents, Ralph and Margaret, his sister Ann, and brothers Robert, and Ralph.

Turk lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; visiting with family and friends, working on gnome hill and puttering in his garage, but his greatest pleasure was spending the summer days out on Lake Champlain in his boat. His humor, wit, love and strength will be greatly missed.

Due to the current pandemic, all service will be private.

A celebration of Turk’s life will be scheduled at a later time.
