Stephen Carl Burlingame

Stephen Carl Burlingame of Weavertown/South Glens Falls and formerly of Port Henry, NY passed away on December 7, 2025 at Elderwood Nursing Home of Ticonderoga surrounded by his family.

Born October 29, 1940 in Port Henry, NY he was the son of the late Lucien and Ruby (Westcott) Burlingame. He was a graduate of Port Henry High School where he lettered in baseball, football, basketball and track. He went into the Marine Corp after graduation. After completing his military career he moved to Albany, NY to study at college to be a teacher.

Stephen married Elizabeth Jane Williams, lived in Albany, then moved to South Glens Falls, NY for many years raising his daughters and working at  General Electric.

Stephen retired and then moved to Weavertown, NY to be with his companion, Jeanie Wells. They both retired from G.E. in Fort Edwards, NY.

Through the years he worked and raised his 3 daughters. He was very active in sports, running, racquetball and so much more. He loved to give to charities and most important to him was the love he had for his family and spending time with them. Stephen loved watching baseball and was a Yankees fan. He was an amazing athlete, Father, role model and friend with a heart of gold.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lucien and Ruby Burlingame, former wife Elizabeth Jane (Williams) Burlingame, sister Joan (Burlingame) Parnell, sister Grace (Burlingame) Wilk, brothers William (Bud) Burlingame, Charlie Burlingame, Don Burlingame, Robert (Lynz) Burlingame and sister Lorraine (Burlingame) Pittman.

Survivors include his daughter Linda Burlingame; his daughter Susan (Burlingame) Montville, son-in-law Scott Montville and their daughters, Grace Montville, Samantha (Montville) Stagg and Stevie Madison (Montville) Rabideau; his daughter Colleen (Burlingame) Stipo, son-in-law Michael Stipo, son Zachary Bennett, daughter Ruby Bennett, and son Michael Stipo; and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Lorraine Bresnahan. He is also survived by his brother Bruce Burlingame, Scott Burlingame and his wife Natalie and sister Crystal Burlingame.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 12th from 12:00- 1:45 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry followed by a 2:00 Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry. A gathering will follow at the EMS in Ticonderoga, NY.
