Stefania Trybendis Frazier
4/9/43- 2/29/24
A Sweet soul, sister, friend, and teacher “leaped” into the arms of the Lord at her sister’s home in Mineville on Thursday, February 29. Born at home in Witherbee, NY to Walter and Stella (Easter) Trybendis on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1943.
Stephanie was a graduate of Potsdam State College and retired from Ticonderoga Elementary School where she taught 1st grade for 35 years. Steph enjoyed conversations with her former students throughout her years in Ti.
Steph was a volunteer at the Ticonderoga Methodist Thrift Shop where she treasured her “thrifty” friends. She was a member of the Eagles Club as well as the Lady Elks. She owned and operated “The Hideout” Bar for 24 years. She loved shopping and Kohl’s coupons, Willie Nelson and Tom Jones to name a few. She certainly was “some tomato”. Her favorite saying.
Steph is survived by best friends Mary and Dennis Hunsdon and family, her brother Walter and his wife Yvonne, sister Tootie, sister-in-law Claire and Bob Bartlett, Debbie Spicer, brother-in-law Billy and Candee Frazier; along with many nieces and nephews from New York, Colorado, and California.
Stephanie was predeceased by her husband James and her Mom and Dad.
Steph’s wishes for those attending her service is to wear red (her favorite color) and wear a mask for Covid protection.
Viewing and service will be at the Harland Funeral Home on Monday March 4th from 10:00 to Noon with a luncheon following at St. Patrick’s Parish Center in Port Henry. Spring burial will be in the Chilson Cemetery.
