Sophia (Rouba) Wojewodzic

 Sophia Wojewodzic, age 89 of 244 Whitney St, Port Henry, NY passed away peacefully at home, on September 30, 2020, under the care of her children and Hospice. She had many health issues throughout her lifetime but had enough stamina to withstand them all. She credited her longevity to her now retired physician, Charles Moisan, MD of Elizabethtown, NY.

Sophie graduated from Mineville High School. She was employed by International Paper Company, Ticonderoga, NY and was proud to say she was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IP.

She was married to Frank Wojewodzic for 71 years. Since his recent death, May 24,2020, she has been lost without him! A joyful celebration will be had in heaven with the reunion of husband, family and friends.

Sophie’s survivors include her children Patty (Chuck) Kolodzey of Port Henry and Joe (Helen Sprague) Wojewodzic of Burlington, Vt; 5 grandchildren Karen (Mark) Kirsch, Kris (Dave) Allen, Jessie (Dan) Benoit, Holly (Rick) Anderson and Marci (Adam) Rheaume and 7 great-grandchildren.

Her loving and caring qualities were many, but her greatest attribute was her cooking skills….”just try it…just a little bite….mmmm”!!!

Due to Covid concerns, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, NY. If you wish to attend, there is a need for social distancing and masks must be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
