Sheila Bobbie Simard

Sheila Bobbie Simard of Witherbee, NY was taken into the arms of the Lord on February 24, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Sheila was born on November 18, 1948, in Ticonderoga, NY, the second of seven children to the late Robert Bobbie Sr. and Joan (Crabtree) Bobbie.

Sheila married Wayne Simard Sr. on August 27, 1966 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Mineville.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Simard Sr., her sons Wayne (Bobbie Jo) Simard Jr. and Brian Simard, her daughter Danielle Simard, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren who will miss their nana for as they brought so much joy into her life, she brought joy into theirs. She is also survived by her mother, Joan Bobbie, her siblings Sandra (Warren) Pattison, Gerald (Lucie) Bobbie, Sharon (John Santose) O’Connor, Robert Jr. (Theresa) Bobbie, Lonne Bobbie, aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Sonya Simard Clark, her sons, Robert and Albert, her father Robert Bobbie Sr. and her brother Francis Bobbie.

After graduating from Moriah Central Schook in 1966, Sheila worked several years in Wasaaic State Hospital in downstate New York and CVES in both Mineville and Plattsburgh. Sheila enjoyed being with her family, reading and tending to her houseplants and her gardens. She and her husband also opened up their home to foster children for over 20 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moriah Ambulance Squad, PO Box 72, Moriah Center, NY 12961. Due to Covid 19 there will be no calling hours. A private Christian Mass to celebrate Sheila’s life will be held at the St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry, NY. Burial will be at the All Saints Cemetery in Moriah.
