Sharon Lee (Stevenson) Ida

Sharon Lee Ida (Stevenson), born August 13, 1949, in Moriah, New York, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 6, 2025.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Thomas Ida Sr.; her children, Jodi Ida and Thomas Jr (Mary) Ida; her beloved grandchildren, Cori(Gavin), Thomas III (Emily), Ariel(Nick), Amanda, Bailey(Colin), and Isaac; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Iris, Jace, and Waylon. She also leaves behind her siblings, Daniel (Rachel) Stevenson, Kathy (Stu) Boughton, Valerie (Mike) Lacey, and Brenda (Drandall) Thacker, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Ida and her parents, Raymond and Joyce (Christian) Stevenson.

For 23 years, Sharon dedicated her career to the Department of Social Services in Essex County, where she was remembered fondly by colleagues and those she served. Outside of her career, her true passions shined—she was a gifted baker, known for her elegant and elaborate wedding cakes, and a talented seamstress who could bring any idea to life with a needle and thread. She embraced all kinds of crafts with creativity and joy.

In her later years, Sharon found her greatest happiness in time spent with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren, filling her home with love, laughter, and warmth. She also took pride in her flower gardens and treasured the quiet moments soaking up the sun on her four-season porch. She also had a deep love of light houses. 

Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the deep love she shared with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, care, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

There will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick’s church in Port Henry at 11:00am on Monday September 15th with burial to follow in the parish cemetery in Moriah Center. 

A celebration of Sharon’s life will take place for family and friends immediately following at the VFW in Mineville.
