Santina M. (Alphonse) Trybendis

Santina (Sandy) Trybendis, 94 of Moriah, New York died peacefully on Thursday April 7, 2022 at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Lake Placid, New York.
She was born in Bloomingdale, New York on April 24, 1927 to Viola and Forest (Foster) Alphonse.
Survivors include her son William(Bill) Trybendis of Moriah, New York and her sister Betty Vanderhoof of Plattsburgh, New York along with many nieces and nephews.
Sandy was instrumental in starting the Mineville Witherbee Fire Department Auxiliary in the mid 1970's. She worked at the local bakery and the telephone company as an operator both located in Port Henry, New York.
Sandy was pre deceased by her husband Alec Trybendis whom she married in Witherbee, New York in 1950, her sisters Alice Olcott and Janice Treadway and her brother Forest Alphonse.
Any one who met Sandy quickly became a lifelong friend. Sandy and her son Bill enjoyed camping from the St.Lawrence to Maine to Pennsylvania to Turning Stone, but her favorite place was close to home in Crown Point, New York. Sandy traveled her campsite on her 3 wheeled bicycle complete with basket often filled with her homemade crafts that she proudly shared with all campers.

At Sandy's request, there will be a graveside service at 10am on April 22, 2022 at the Moriah Catholic Cemetery, Dugway Road, Moriah, New York.
