Robin L Knapp
Robin L Knapp passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was born March 5, 1947, in Glens Falls, NY, the son of Elizabeth Knapp Hall. He was later adopted by Roland and Susan Knapp of Keene, NY.
In his late teens, Robin traveled to Alaska from Keene, NY by motorcycle, working his way across the United States until he decided to enlist in the United States Army.
He completed Officer’s Candidate School at the top of his class, then served in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, stationed in South Korea during the Viet Nam War after the Pueblo Incident.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he married his wife Patricia Lewis Knapp. They were married 51 years. He became part owner and plant engineer of the Crown Point Telephone Corporation and was proud of the fact that he knew every pole, every length of buried cable, every cable size and had walked every foot of the telephone plant in Crown Point.
After retirement Robin and Patricia traveled the United States extensively eventually spending winters based in Florida.
He is predeceased by his adoptive parents, his mother, and his stepson, Gregg L. Trask.
He leaves his wife, Patricia L. Knapp, his daughter Shana Knapp Macey, her husband Anthony S. Macey, granddaughter Alexandra Macey Towne and her husband Jared Towne, his great granddaughter Arizona Towne and grandson Anthony Robin Macey. Also, a large extended Knapp family.
