Robert Spring of Crown Point passed away on Sunday, December 13th. He was born in Ticonderoga on June 28th, 1932 to Arthur and Merle (Kirby) Spring. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war from 1950 to 1954, when he was then honorably discharged. Bob married the love of his life, Lorna (Woods), in 1954. They spent 42 years together until Lorna passed away in 1996. He was employed by International Paper for 33 years until he retired. Bob stayed busy after retirement by working various other jobs throughout the years. He was most proud of his Christmas tree farm "Lorna's Trees" that he operated for many years on Russell Street. Bob also volunteered much of his time to the Penfield Homestead Museum. In his idle time, he enjoyed drawing portraits of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and various historical buildings. Bob had many other hobbies including baking and making wine. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's baseball and basketball games.
Robert is predeceased by his parents and his wife Lorna. He is also predeceased by his siblings Kenneth, Harold, Marian “Betty”, Francis, Merrill “Bud”, Leroy, Carl and Richard.
Robert is survived by his children Arthur (Sue) Spring, Brenda (Roger) Meachem, Linda (Ralph) Lang, Robert Spring Jr, Sharon (Bob) Norton, and John (Jill) Spring. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
