Robert "Danny" Hyatt
(November 29th, 1953 - December 16th, 2023)
Robert "Danny" Hyatt, passed away on December 16th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Danny was born on November 29, 1953, he graduated from Moriah Central School in 1972. He worked at Camp Normandie as the head chef where he developed his love of cooking. He then worked at Moriah Central School as a custodian and worked his way up to Superintendent of Buildings, Ground and Transportation. He retired after 30 years at Moriah Central School.
Danny was passionate about cooking and would often create his own recipes based on his favorite restaurant meals. He loved spending time working in his garden. He was a dedicated father, husband and grandfather and was a father figure to many others. He had a strong interest in history and would often go to museums with his daughters.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Hyatt and Eleanor (Rock) Hyatt. He was a devoted husband to Melody Hyatt, a loving father to daughters Colette (Patrick Wallace) Hyatt, Carly (Cody) Sleeper and “Papa” to his grandson, Colin. He was a beloved brother to his siblings Mel (Grace) Hyatt, Patrick Hyatt, Mary Anne (Tim) Breeyear and Maria Crossman. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held at the Knights of Columbus on December 21st from 3 pm to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Moriah Ambulance Squad or a charity of your choice.
As we remember Danny, let us carry forward the love and kindness he shared with us. He will be missed dearly and his memory will forever live on in our hearts as we continue to be inspired by his love for family and passion for cooking. Make sure to have a glass of chardonnay or drink of choice in his honor.
