Paul Mazzotte Obituary

Paul Mazzotte, 88, of Mineville, NY, peacefully passed away on December 23, 2025. Paul was born on July 25, 1937, in Witherbee, NY, the fifth child of Pauline (Veneto) Mazzotte and Giuseppe “Joseph” Mazzotte. Paul graduated from Mineville High School, where he was a three sport athlete. Following high school, Paul went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he lived in Albany, NY, working on IBM machines and earning a Business Degree from Albany Business College. Upon returning to the Adirondacks, Paul worked for Republic Steel as an accountant. On May 22, 1965, Paul married the love of his life Sandra Garcia. Together they raised two sons, Christopher and Paul Jeff. Paul later worked for The Delaware and Hudson Railroad Company and earned an associates degree from North Country Community College. He eventually entered the field of corrections, where he dedicated over 20 years of service and retired as a Lieutenant from Moriah Shock. For 40 years, Paul served as an Assessor for The Town of Moriah, holding the title of Chairman of the Board of Assessors role for many years. While Paul held many titles throughout his life the two most important to him were “Dad” and “Papa.” He was a dedicated family man, traveling all throughout the North Country to support his grandchildren in all of their endeavors. He was their biggest fan. A devoted sports enthusiast, Paul was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. Those who knew Paul knew he loved life, had a gentle demeanor, and a willingness to help others where he could. Some of his hobbies included fishing, bowling, and gardening.

Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandra; his sons, Christopher (Joanne) of Westport and Paul (Tara) of Ballston Lake; and his grandchildren, Brennan, Gabrielle, and Chelsea Mazzotte. He is also survived by his siblings, Parma Richards, Angelina Cooper, Marie (Hugh) Law, Bruno Mazzotte, James (Glenda) Mazzotte, Linda (Dale) Slattery, and Michael Mazzotte, as well as his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mazzotti, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Anthony, Joseph, and Dominic, his sister Patti Ann and brothers in law Jack Richards and Beverly Cooper, as well as sisters in law Caroline Mazzotte and Jean Mazzotte.

 Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 28, from 4:00-5:00 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry will be held on Monday, December 29, at 11:00 am, followed by a gathering in the Parish Center.
