Paul Edwin Burns

Paul Edwin Burns passed away at his home May 9th, 2023. He was 58 years old.

He was the son of Katherine and Edwin Burns whom he loved with all his heart.

Paul worked in the telecommunications industry for many years and went on to create Modex, a computer consulting business. He worked in the field of business until his cancer treatments made work impossible.

Paul had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing the clay banks of Putts Creek near his home and just recently was able to catch a nice 10-inch brown trout. Paul loved his mountains, Moose and Owlpate, and was president of his hunting club. He enjoyed many excursions in all kinds of weather. He would hike and camp in the middle of winter and at times with nothing but his compass to guide him. He hiked many of the 46 High Peaks of the Adirondacks. Paul enjoyed expanding and contracting his beautiful mind with studies of physics, science and mathematics. Paul loved to learn and was always asking questions of others. Paul overcame and lived with many traumas not of his making and did no harm to others. He will be missed.

Paul had the love and help of many friends before and during his illness, Vaughn and Theresa Gibbs, Tom Neddo and his daughter Evie, Theresa Millington, William Dushane, Ralph and Linda Lane and Bill and Karen Buell. There were many others that helped and that help was greatly appreciated.

Paul is survived by his nephew Dan Meehan and his wife Jennifer Meehan and their children Ambellina and Chase Meehan, his nephew John Chapin III, his great nephew Ashton Hilpertshauser and many cousins.

He is predeceased by his mother Kate and father Edwin, his brother Mike Meehan and his sister-in-law Linda Meehan and most recently his beloved niece Michele Meehan.
