Norman Lewis Westover passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 with his loving wife of 49 years by his side at Advent Health Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida, after battling cancer for the last year.
He was born in the town of Moriah 80 years ago to Evelyn (Sherman) Westover and Roger Westover.
Norman is survived by his Loving wife Molly; His son Jason (Tara) and his adorable grandson Landon, and his sister Ella Mae Pereau.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother James (Regina) Westover, Marshall (Betty) Westover and brother-in -law Bud Pereau.
Norm is survived by his brother-in-law Arthur (Lynn) Cross, Alphonzo (Hazel) Cross and sister-in-law Emma Jean (Carl) O’kusky.
His memory lives on with his nieces and nephews- Jim, Doug, David, Dennie and Jana; Curtis and Theresa, Jill and Lowell. On Molly’s side Art Cross, Jr, Tracy, Jennifer, Chris, Adam and Kyle.
Norm’s pride and Joy was his 1970 Road Runner. He loved his old cars and had many nice cars over the years. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, camping with friends and family. Norm loved his animals and gave up hunting to feed deer, chipmunks, squirrels and crows at home.
Norm was a Viet Nam Vet and served 2 years in Munich, Germany. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of American Legion 224 in Ticonderoga and Vergennes FOE Eagles.
Norm drove a milk truck for Carl Floyd in Westport for a few years, until he was hired at International Paper in Ti where he worked for 20 years and retired as a truck driver for the town of Moriah. During this time, he and Molly owned Norm and Molly’s grocery and deli and for 35 years they owned The Old Mine in Moriah Center. He loved carpentry work, and they built their log home in Moriah Center. They retired to Daytona Beach, Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends in NY and Florida.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to our niece Jennifer Cross and dear friends Barbie and Sherry for being there in our time of need.

Calling hours 4-6pm at Harland’s Funeral Home in Port Henry, NY on Wednesday December 18th with service to follow at 6pm. Celebration of Life to follow at VFW in Mineville, NY.
His memory will live on in our hearts forever cherished and remembered. A life well lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. RIP Norm.
