Natalie Mary (DePaoli) Finnessey passed away on Sunday morning, January 24, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on September 5, 1937 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital. Natalie was an only child to her parents, Alfred J. and Mary (Dupuis) DePaoli.
Natalie graduated from Port Henry High School Class of 1956. On the first day after graduation she went to work at the local bank in Port Henry. She worked there many years and retired in 1992 as Head Teller.
Natalie married Thomas John Finnessey at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry on June 21, 1958.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas, two sons, Thomas J. (Karen Myers) Finnessey, Jr. of Voorheesville, NY, Timothy J. (Gail Fisher) Finnessey of Apalachin, NY., her five grandchildren: Christi Cook, Melissa Hill, Lauren Booton, Aaron Finnessey and Nicholas Finnessey, as well as four great-grandchildren: Savannah, Jackson, Elena and Ivy. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Richard Finnessey and Michael Corbo, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Natalie was very active with the Red Hats Group, the Scarlet O’Haras. She was greatly involved with arts and crafts and was very proud of the many projects she completed. She was an avid reader, many times completing a novel in one day. Lastly, she enjoyed watching many cooking shows, especially Rachel Ray.
Natalie enjoyed visiting with her many, many friends spreading joy with her infectious laughter. She and Tom enjoyed traveling – visiting 25 US states and five Canadian provinces. Maine and New Jersey were their favorites.
Due to the COVID pandemic there will be no calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, NY at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 with Reverend Albert Hauser officiating. Face covering and social distancing are required both outside and inside during the services. A celebration of her life may be held later in the year when we can safely gather.
Natalie will be missed by many.
