Nancy (Welch) Durfee of Moriah, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 26, 2022, at Glens Falls Hospital.  Mom was born in Ticonderoga, NY on September 5, 1947. She was the daughter of Earl Welch and Elizabeth Sauseville and lived most of her life in NY and VT. Mom loved to go to flea markets, antique shopping, and crocheting, and loved animals, especially her pug, Skip.

Nancy met her husband, Glen Durfee, Jr. at the Lee House in Port Henry, NY in 1980 where she was working as a server, and they were happily married until his passing in December 2012. Nancy had two children: Curt Durfee of Milton, Vermont, and his two sons, Bryce and Gabriel, and a daughter, Lisa Moyer of Fleming Island, FL, and her two children, daughter Madison, and son Nathan. Nancy is survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Nancy had a profound sense of humor and enjoyed socializing with family and friends.  She was always ready to go to experience life and especially looked forward to time spent with the people she loved. Everyone who spent any time with Nancy will have stories to tell because she was always doing something to bring a smile to others’ faces. You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth which kept you on your toes around her, but in a good way.

There will be calling services at Harland's Funeral Home on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 5-7 PM.  A celebration of life service to lay Nancy to rest beside her husband, Glen will be held at a later time.
