Moe's journey began growing up in Port Henry, where he attended Port Henry High School and Moriah High School graduating in 1963. Moe's commitment to service extended to his country as well, as he served in the Army Reserves. However, it was as a proud member of the New York State Troopers that he truly found his calling. In 1970, Moe entered the New York State Troopers Academy, dedicating himself to the protection and service of his community. His unwavering dedication and hard work led to his promotion to Investigator in 1983. In 1991, after a distinguished career, he retired from the New York State Police Troop B Lewis Barrack, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment and integrity.

Retirement brought Moe the joy of spending quality time with his most treasured possessions, his grandchildren. He was a doting and devoted grandfather who spoiled them relentlessly, always ready to go above and beyond for their happiness. Moe's love for his favorite sports teams, the NY Mets and NY Giants, was a source of endless enjoyment and camaraderie for him.

Maurice (Moe) Albert Guerin is predeceased by his parents, and his sister Theresa (Donald) Gildersleeve.  He is survived by his wife Bunny (Betty Ives) and his two loving daughters, Nicole (Stash) Kissel, and Kristy (Sean) Aubin, who were a source of immense pride and joy to him. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, August, Harland and Wesley Kissel and Gavin, Trent, and Branson Aubin, who will forever carry his love and wisdom in their hearts. His siblings; Ernie (Debbie) Guerin of Port Henry, Sue (Peter) Medick of Ballston Spa , Leona (Bob) Swayne of Ballston Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
