Matthew Aaron Skinner

Matthew Aaron Skinner, 68, of Crown Point, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, July,25th.

Matt was born December 13th, 1957. The son of Ted and Lib (Trimble) Skinner of Crown Point. Matt was a caretaker at heart and he worked in the mental health field for many years serving the disabled including the Essex County ARC for many years.

He loved spending time listening and playing music, for which he knew as many things as possible about his favorite artists, and new ones discovered. He enjoyed learning about the world throughout his life and was always quick with a factoid or story about most given subjects. Matt lived in Florida for many years, but returned to the North Country to make his home and meet his beloved wife, Debbie.

Matt was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, King Skinner.

Matt is lovingly survived by his wife, Debbie (Dolback) Skinner; sons, Adam Skinner and Jimmy Dolback; daughters Celeste Skinner, Nikkie Dolback and Shelby Dolback; his sister, Becky (Skinner) Thebeau and nephews Andy Skinner and Cal Fidler. Matt was also blessed with grandchildren whom he cared about. Matt also valued and loved his other family members including Bert (Jennifer) Barber, Jeff (Kathy) Joiner and Jim (Melissa) Brand who were lifelong friends.

A graveside service will be held Memorial Day, 2026 in Crown Point.
