Mary Jean Belzer, 90, of Elizabethtown, NY died on January 2, 2023 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital .

She was born September 11, 1932 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Lisle and Mary (Clark) Denicore.

In 1954 Mary Jean moved from Plattsburgh to Elizabethtown to teach Home Economics. She married Daniel Belzer on April 11, 1955.

Mary Jean enjoyed playing nightly games of scrabble with her husband Dan. She and Dan had many friends throughout the years. She always had an open door and loved to entertain whoever showed up. Our Mom and Dad created a great home for us to grow up in. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Bonnie), John (Susanne) and Peter (Colleen) ; her grandchildren, Aaron (Allie), Amanda (Nicholas), Alicia (Sarah), Amy (Christopher), Scott (Mandy), Olivia (Brendan), Phillip, and Wesley; her great grandchildren Charlie, Danielle, Finn, Stevie and Bennett; her brothers, Patrick, Richard, Earl and Gerry and her sister Joanne.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Daniel and her son Jeffrey.

A graveside service will be held in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Elizabethtown, NY on June 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
