Laurie Ann (Welch) Harrington
On Sunday, August 30, 2020, Laurie Harrington, loving wife and mother of 6 children passed away at age 50 due to a sudden illness.
Laurie was born, September 3, 1969 in Ticonderoga, NY to Helena Welch. She graduated from Westport Central School in 1988, and was currently a student at Herkimer County Community College. On October 20, 2001, she married Andrew Harrington. They raised six children, three sons, Kyle, Vincent, and Jacob, and three daughters, Virginia, Tamayra, and Alexandria.
She enjoyed caring for, and spoiling, her children and grandchildren whenever possible. Her love of music such as the band, Def Leppard and getting the opportunity to meet them in 2016 and have her picture taken with them was a high point in her life. She loved showing cows at the Essex County Fair during her high school years, and was active in 4H during those times.
Laurie was preceded in death by her mother, Helena Welch, her brother, Steven Welch, and her mother in law, Elise Harrington.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew, her sons, Kyle and his wife, Jamie, Vincent and his wife, Kelsey, and Jacob and his fiancée, Jenny McGinn, her daughters, Virginia Rice and her fiancée, Adam LaMotte, Tamayra Rice and her husband Raymond, and Alexandria, as well as her father in law, Keith Harrington.
No memorial services will be held at this time. Arrangements were made by Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, NY.
Laurie was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She had many people that loved her and cared about her. She was a tough woman, and fought to the very end. She will be missed dearly.
