Julie A. Towne,65, of Crown Point, NY passed away peacefully at Plattsburgh Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her two sons, Joshua A. Towne and Jared C. Towne, both of Crown Point, NY, two granddaughters, Arizona R. Towne and Athena R. Towne, both of Crown Point, NY, her sister, Linda Kesinger (Towne) of Parker, Colorado, and many other close family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Clark L. Towne and Margaret A. (Graham) Towne of Crown Point, NY, her brother Clark W. Towne of Crown Point, NY, her best friend, Michele Meehan of Moriah, NY and other close family and friends, all of which she loved and missed dearly.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY to Clark L. Towne and Margaret A. Towne, Julie lived the majority of her life in her hometown of Crown Point, where she attended C.P.C.S. and earned her high school diploma. She spent a short time residing in Arizona, where both of her sons were born, before moving back to Crown Point. Julie worked various jobs throughout her career, last of which was the Trout House Village Resort in Hague, NY. There she gained a close friend and co-worker, Theresa Howard, whom she was blessed to have in her life.
For the majority of her years as a loving and devoted mother, she raised her two sons on her own, along with the help of her parents. This, as any dedicated parent would know, must have been a very difficult and daunting responsibility. But being the person that Julie was, she never gave up on her children. She was always there for them in any way she possibly could.
Julie was a very proud, loving and devoted grandmother of two beautiful girls, Arizona R. Towne and Athena R. Towne. She always loved spending time with them sitting on the porch watching them play. Julie always made the effort to attend birthdays and holidays for both of them. Even when her health was in decline, she was there in every way she could be. Her memory will always live on through them both.
At home, Julie lived a quiet and modest lifestyle. She enjoyed working in her various gardens and finding old “Blue Glass” bottles and other items from the Putt’s Creek area nearby to decorate her home. She also entertained many friends and family members over the years. Be it an event, or just stopping by to visit, Julie always welcomed everyone with a warm smile and made them feel at home. She also owned many dogs and cats over the years, all of which she loved and cared for very much.
Julie left this life far too soon, but her years of pain she was forced to endure are over. May she now rest in peace.
There will be services per Julie’s wishes. A gathering of family and friends will be held on October 18, 2025 at 1840 Creek Rd., Crown Point, NY from 12pm-4pm. Those who attend are asked to bring any dish of food to share.
