Judy A. Cutting passed away Tuesday April 28, 2026 at Elderwood in Ticonderoga. She was born in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of Emily (Jones) and Winston (Pete) Decker. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Albert, her daughter Rebecca (Becky), and her brothers, Winston (Skip), Richard (Dick) and James (Jim) Decker.
Judy worked for several years for the Town of Moriah, driving senior citizens to the meal site and delivering meals on wheels. She also at one time belonged to the Moriah Ambulance Auxiliary and the Moriah Fire Department Auxiliary. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Judy loved her family. She was very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives. Family and friends meant everything to her. She looked forward every year for warm weather so she could sit on her porch and watch the people going by or stopping to say "hi. She loved going for rides in the evenings to look for deer then stopping to get ice cream on the way home. She looked forward every year to going to basket raffles chicken bbqs and the farmer’s market.
Judy is survived by her daughter Nancy (Ralph) Smith, her son Albert (Fred) (Jamie) Cutting, her grandchildren Megan, Tyler (Darien) Smith, Dakotah, Todd, Kenzee, Chyna Cutting, Emily (Michael) Thomson, Jaydon (Rylie) Lafountain, Hailee, Landon Cutting, and great granddaughter Ainsley Thomsen. She is also survived by her sister Catherine (Kay) Cutting, her brother David Decker and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday May 3, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Harland Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service on Monday May 4, 2026 at the South Moriah Cemetery at noon. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at the Old Miner's Tavern.
