Joseph Edward Snide, Sr.
Joseph (Joe) Edward Snide, Sr., 75, lost his 30yr. battle with Multiple Sclerosis on July 27, 2022 at The Veterans Community Living Center, Hampton, VA. Gratitude to the clergy, doctors and Staff. Big thanks to Chester for his caregiving and friendship.
Born June 5, 1947, in Mineville, NY, Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Herman and Pauline (Nedeau) Snide.
Alongside his Dad, Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW.
Joe is survived by his Loving sister Suzanne and her husband Thomas Morse of Mineville, NY. Nieces and nephews: Lisa Recore, Amy Burdo, William and Robert Larrow and their families. Dear Aunts, Alberta Harriman, Hilda Thornton and many cousins. Buddy Robert Boothby, hunting Pal, Bill Larrow, and in-laws Jean Williamson, nephew Ryan, and Manuel V. Perez.
October 1967, Joe married Gloria, daughter of the Late Manual and Isabel Perez of Moriah, NY at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Port Henry. They have three sons: Joseph E. Jr., Brian (Tammy) and Kevin (Tonya). Grandsons: Christopher, Todd, Zachary, Austin, and Dillon. Great- Grandchildren: Marley, Eliana, and Castiel.
Joe served 4 yrs in the Navy (1966) as a hospital corpsman (Vietnam 1968). As a Navy Reservist, he received with honors his Associates in Science in Nursing Degree at Rhode Island Community Junior College. Joined the Air Force (1974) and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, TX (1986).
Major Snide retired (1992) from the 1st Medical Group, Langley AFB, Hampton VA (1990-91 Desert Shield/Storm). Thank you for your honorable Services to Our Country.
His favorite pastimes were bowling, camping with family, coaching soccer, fishing, hunting and watching old westerns.

Memorial Service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, NY on August 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. Celebration of Life at the Mineville VFW following the cemetery.
