Joseph Drake Obituary

Joseph “joe” R. Drake, 64, of Mineville, NY passed away suddenly on April 26th, 2021. He was born November 9th, 1956 in Ticonderoga, NY. Joe was an avid member of the Moriah Chapter of the Eagles club and also served in the United States Army for four years. He was most recently employed for the Town of Moriah at the transfer station and contributed many summers to the Basin Harbor club in Vermont. Joe enjoyed visiting with everyone and had friends wherever he would go! Joe loved to look for a “good deal” and couldn’t pass it up if he found one!

He was predeceased by his parents William Sr. and Lillie Drake; Siblings William Drake jr., John “Jack” Drake, Paul Drake, Georgetta “Georgie” McCray, Darlene “Dar” Roe, and dog Toby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Karen (Armstrong) Drake and dog Zoey; His children, Jason and wife Sarah (of Port Henry, NY), John and wife Chelsea (of Mineville, NY), Jessica and fiancé Steven (of Glen, NY), and Rebecca “Becky” and companion Bob (of Mineville, NY); His grandchildren Collin Provoncha, Caitlin Drake, Callie Drake, Ashlynn Drake, Rylee James, Dayva Drake, Amelia James and 6 step-grandchildren; Siblings, Connie Conniff, Milo Drake and Lavina Drake, sister-in-law Sandra Herrick and husband Lee, many nieces and nephews, and dear friend John “Uncle Pete” Lansing. Joe had many friends, everywhere he went and enjoyed visiting with everyone!

The family will have a private gathering at their convenience in memory of Joe. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Moriah Chapter of the eagles club in Joe’s name.
