John P.S. Rasmussen

John P.S. Rasmussen, 95, formerly of Mineville, NY passed away July 4, 2021 at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY.

He was born March 11, 1926 in Bronx, NY, the son of Hendrick and Theodine (Olsen) Rasmussen.

John was proud of his service to his country in WW 2 as a U.S. Marine. His voice could always be heard in his help and kindness for others. He will be missed by many.

 John is survived by his sons, John Rasmussen of Jermyn, PA. and David Rasmussen of Bremerton, WA., his daughter Diane Thompson of Pittston, PA. and  four grandchildren.

He is predeceased by a daughter Eileen Buttito and his wife Dorothy Rasmussen.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 7th from 1-2:00 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors will be held on Friday July 9th at 1:00 pm at the Catholic Community of Moriah Cemetery.
