John C. Krauer (“Jack”)

April 10, 1940 – March 25, 2025

John C. Krauer, affectionately known as Jack, passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 10, 1940, Jack spent the better part of his life in Hyde Park before settling in Port Henry, NY, where he found joy living next to his daughter Tammy and son-in-law Eric.

Jack had a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace in nature—hiking through the woods, swimming in lakes and streams, and exploring the beauty of North and South Lake. He had a passion for motorcycles and hot rods, always drawn to the thrill of the open road.

Over the years, Jack worked for Texaco and the New York State Highway Department, dedicating his time and hard work to both industries. But above all, his greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Tammy Munson (Eric) and Michael Krauer (Debra), as well as his beloved grandchildren, Katrina Vlamis and Leah Krauer, whom he adored. He also leaves behind his brother Kenny and his wife Joan, as well as his nieces Debbie (Craig) and Jean (Alex).

Jack’s adventurous spirit, love for nature, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to enjoy the great outdoors in his honor.
