Joan E. Orr - October 27th 1938- May 10th 2022
Joan was born in Mineville NY. The daughter of Edward and Evelyn (Genier) Donahue. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother trooper Ronald Donahue, and her beloved husband Robert J. Orr Sr who passed away on October 26th, 1985.
She is survived by her brother, Norman and Lorraine (Bashaw) Donahue of Keesville NY, Her sister Patricia (Donahue) and her husband Victor Vallejo of Queensbury NY she is also survived by her daughter Robin (Orr) and son in law Mike Shaw of Ticonderoga NY, her son Robert J Orr Jr. and wife Chloe (Carson) Orr of Mineville NY, And son Darryl Orr and wife Gina (Melillo) Orr of Gouverneur. She is also survived by her grandson Dr.Robert Orr the 3rd and wife Stephanie Orr, Nicholas and Allecia Orr, Dylan Orr and companion Meaghan Yost, her grandson Cody Orr and companion Brooke Richards, Grandaughter Meegan Shaw and fiancé Kyler teRiele, and Kayleigh Orr and fiancé Logan Garrison followed by her newly born great granddaughter Natalie Orr.
She graduated from Mineville Highschool and started working at age 13 in frontiertown, and later went to Albany Business College, after college she returned to the area where she went back to frontiertown and becoming a manager of the A frame where she met so many of her great friends, in 1975 she went to work at the county clerk office and transferred to the DMV office in Elizabethtown and retired in 1999. Joan loved everyone especially her family and friends. Her favorite past time was to travel, sail in the Caribbean with her cousins Sandra and Cal. Joan was a devoted catholic, who’s faith carried her through life.
At the request of our mother, there will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry NY at 11:00 Mass, Friday May 13th with Father Albert Hauser, and Deacon Elliott Shaw. The burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately after at Knights of Columbus in Port Henry NY. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Moriah ambulance squad or the Moriah food pantry.
