Jean Marie (Cella) Proietti, 91, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2025 in her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 23rd, 1933. She was the daughter of William and Emma Cella, and sister to William (Sally) Cella of New Jersey, and Peggy (William) Conlon of Long Island. Jean was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ who prayed consistently for her family, her friends and her country. She loved gardening and flowers. She was a skilled seamstress who made clothes for herself and family, and was well known for her quilts. Coming from Long Island as a young wife and mother with eight young children in 1965, (eventually having 10 children) she thrived in the challenges of her new rural life. She learned about farming, soap making, and a variety of crafts that made her home beautiful and the best place to be. Among her favorite pastimes was getting together with her family for a big meal and playing cards. Jean was a special and generous woman. She was loved by all who know her and she returned their love wholeheartedly. She consistently attended and enjoyed all of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an active member of the Lakeside Regional Church in Hague and was known in her church to be a servant of God who purposed to glorify God in her many forms of service whether it be in prayer or cleaning the church. Jean was predeceased by her husband Daniel Proietti, her parents, and her sister Joan Conway. She is survived by her children Patricia Proietti, Pamela (Douglas) Woods, Daniel (Kathi) Proietti, David (Cynthia) Proietti, Elizabeth (John) Millington, Matthew (Angelika) Proietti, Douglas (Nong) Proietti, Nancy (William) Millington, Barbara (Jeramie) Savage and Jennifer (William) Cook. Jean was also blessed with 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service at the Ticonderoga First United Methodist Church, 1045 Wicker Street, on Saturday, February 15th at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are in the care of Harland Funeral Home. In honor of Jean’s love for flowers, the family would appreciate flower arrangements to decorate the church at her Memorial Service. If you’d like, please consider making a donation to a US Veterans’ charity of your choice, which was a cause she embraced because of her husband’s service in the Korean War.
