Ivan passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side June 20, 2020.
He was born to Martin and Nora Strieble on July 31,1939 in the town of Moriah.
Ivan had many careers throughout his life. He started out as a mechanic at Wheelock’s Garage in Port Henry, New York. Then after he worked at many local garages, including his own home garage where he helped many friends repair their vehicles. He was a long time employee of the Town of Moriah as a heavy equipment operator. Some of his jobs also included International Paper and Vetters milk Company.
Ivan enjoyed hunting with his father and sons. Also tending to his daughter and son-in-law‘s camp on his property.
Ivan also had many beloved pets throughout his life which he loved and cared for with all his heart. Ivan was predeceased by his father Martin Strieble, mother Nora Strieble, sister-in-law Susan Strieble and brother-in-law Larry Phinney.
Survivors include his wife Joan , son Ivan M. Strieble Junior (Michele) of South Glens Falls, daughter Lisa Seymour (Danny) of Glens Falls and son Jason M. Strieble (Julie) of Moriah; beloved grandsons Jay, Jeff & Jacob; and loving and faithful Companion Claire Christian.
Ivan is also survived by his sisters Jean Phinney of Vooresville New York, Patricia Rodick (Anthony) of Chestertown New York, Joy Dolan (Peter) of Saugerties New York and
brother David Strieble of Crown Point, New York; along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours per family.
Memorial donations can be made in Ivan’s name to the Moriah fire department, Moriah ambulance squad or the SPCA of Elizabethtown, New York.
