Howard DuShane, 78, of Crown Point, NY, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

In 1971, Howard married the love of his life Ann Evens and together they began their family the following year. Their 54 years of marriage were filled with Saturday lunches at Burleigh’s, weekend getaways to Turning Stone, long car rides to Vermont for ice cream at Goodie’s and family poker nights. He enjoyed drinking beverages with his closest friends (Frank, Deano, Henry, Jerry, and Raymond) and cherished family dinners and card nights.

his sister; Linda (Fred) Nadeau, his grandsons; Anthony, Samuel, Michael, Andrew and David DuShane (Jr), his granddaughters; Amber and Alissa DuShane, his great granddaughter; Harper DuShane and his nieces; Erin Nadeau and Shallon Nadeau Hartk.
Howard was a man who deeply loved his family and the outdoors. He found joy in hunting and fishing with his sons, closest friends Jerry Morse and Dean Swarthout, cousins Raymond DuShane Frank Christian and Dick Christian and spending Friday nights playing poker with the guys at the VFW and the Ticonderoga Fish and Game Club. He had a special bond with nature—tending to his garden, abundant fruit trees, and sharing his apples with family and friends brought him great happiness —and he had a lifelong affection for dogs.
Howard was devoted to his sons, grandchildren and their friends. He took pride in sharing his knowledge and values with them, and they looked up to him as a source of strength, wisdom, and love.
Howard will be remembered as the strongest man in his family’s lives, a steady and loving presence to the very end. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
