Helen T. Harpp (1927 - 2024)
Helen (Kolysko) Harpp, a beloved matriarch, was taken into the arms of our Lord on October 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, just five days shy of her 97th birthday. Born in Ticonderoga on November 2, 1927, she was the daughter of Hipolit and Teckla Kolysko.
Helen spent her early years in Ticonderoga before marrying her late husband, Lester Harpp Sr. Together, they moved to Crown Point, where they established several businesses, including the Crown Point Soda Bar, T&C Lumber and Supply, three apartment buildings, Crown Point Self Storage, Commerce Park Self Storage, the local post office, as well as Sharon Park and Pine Springs Park developments. Throughout their busy life, Helen was a devoted mother, raising four children while actively managing their businesses. Known for her open-heartedness, she always welcomed her children’s friends into her home with warmth and kindness.
A devoted Catholic, Helen was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church, where she taught religious classes and sang in the church choir for many years. She loved to dance and was known for her fashionable sense of style.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Lester Sr.; her three sisters, Gladys Sage, Stella Kolysko, and Mary Halaburda; her three brothers, John, Vincent, and Anthony; her great-grandson, Andrew Ross; and her beloved dog, Frisky.
She is survived by her four children: Sandra Ross (John Woodard), Sharon Thiesen (Kevin), Lester Harpp Jr. (Beth), and Marie Ross (David). Helen was cherished by her nine grandchildren—Shelley, Colin, Pat, Chris, Jeff, Brodie, AJ, Shawn, and Josh—as well as her 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. We love you, Mom & Gramma – a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!
A funeral mass will be held on November 11, 2024, at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Crown Point, with burial to follow.
