Harold R. Carpenter, born to the late Harold and Theresa (Capuano) Carpenter passed away at Elderwood at Ticonderoga on January 13, 2021 at the age of 80. He grew up in Port Henry across the street from the Catholic Church with his older brother and three younger sisters.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Airforce and a Buffalo Bills fan. He worked for TVGA Consultants as a highway inspector working in the Buffalo Niagara Airport and many major roadways in Western New York where he met and married the Love of his life, the late Nancy Starner in 1978.
He enjoyed traveling to Italy, the Caribbean and Hawaii with his sisters and brothers-in-law and cruising to Alaska with his Buffalo friends and casino life with Terry and Bill.
He is survived by his step-daughter Donna Schiebel and step-son Donald (Doris) Starner. He was the beloved grandfather to Brian Schiebel, Kimberly, Megan and Daniel (fiancée Bridget) Starner and special puppy grandad to Maddie. Also surviving are his brother Joe Pat Carpenter and sisters Patsy McCaughin and Diane (Willard) Baker, Brother-in-law Bill Gale and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father (3/3/62), mother Theresa (1/13/98), wife Nancy (2005), step-son-in-law Raymond Schiebel and sister Terry (11/2/18).
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and CNA’s at Elderwood for their kindness and care he received, also Bill Gale for the excellent care he gave Skip after the stroke. There will be no services at this time. He will be put to rest in Buffalo at Elmlawn Cemetery next to his beloved wife Nancy.
