Crown Point
Gloria Tubbs of Crown Point passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025 at the age of 91 surrounded by her family.
She was the 9th child born to the late Albert and Eva Ross. She was predeceased by 11 siblings, Wesley, Harold, Bob, Joe, Donald, Arnold, Dick, Willis, Ernest, Flora Thatcher and Shirley Beach.
She is survived by a brother, Carl (Debbie) Ross and a sister Donna Spaulding. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Madeline Ross and Mary Tubbs.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Merwin Tubbs in 1978. Together they had two daughters, Bonnie (Glenn) Lang and Becki (John) Wayman. They went on to have five grandchildren: Kyle (Adrienne) Lang, Seth (Cody) Lang, Courtney (Travis) Tabor, Hillary (Taylor) Price and Cody (Jerrica) Wayman. She was also “G.G.” to 16 great grandchildren that she adored.
Gloria loved to cook. She worked at Crown Point School cafeteria for many years. She loved to make sure all her student athletes were well fed before any games. She also owned and operated Mt. View Snack Bar for many summers in Crown Point.
Gloria was an avid sports fan. She never missed a NY Yankee game or a Dallas Cowboy game. Her other passion was Church. She was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed planning and working at every Church function for as long as she was able.
A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Crown Point on Saturday, March 15th at 11:00 am.
