Glendine L. Bemis

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glendine L. Bemis, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85, on January 12, 2025, with family members by her side.

She is predeceased by her parents, Eric (Vic) and Louise Rice, her husband of 50 years, Alfred (Sam) Bemis and their daughter Amanda J. Bemis.

She is survived by her son Dean (Judy) Bemis, her daughter Jennifer (Ron) Siver, and her sister Yvonne (Henry) DuShane. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Janelle (Shawn) Trosper, James (Christine) Firlik, Samantha (Jason) Burris, Hilary (Robert) Primo, Paige Dolback, Heather (Jake) Ohara, and Dorothy (Christian) Tinsley. Glendine also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren, whose love and joy brought her immeasurable pleasure throughout her life; Eli, Avery, Ainsley, Autumn, Jaelyn, Liam, Jaxon, Harrison, Holden, Hudson, Riley, Raelyn, Jenevieve, Journey and Maverick.

Glendine loved all animals, fishing with Sam, baking, bowling, and playing cards with relatives. Glendine was full of love, laughter, resilience, and touched the lives of all who knew her, including the staff and many students she enjoyed working alongside for many years at Crown Point Central School.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heather Bemis-Ohara for her unwavering dedication and love she showed in caring for Gram during her final days. Without you, the family would have had no direction in caring for Gram during her final days, and your guidance was truly a gift to us all. Your selflessness and devotion in making her comfortable and at peace will never be forgotten. Also, a special thank you to High Peaks Hospice for the comfort and care they provided.

A graveside service will be held May 10th,11:00 am, at the White Church Cemetery in Crown Point, NY.
