Gilbert John Gravelle Jr.

Sadly, Gilbert John Gravelle Jr. passed away On January 31,2021 after a battle with COPD.  

He was the second child born on September 2, 1942 at home in Witherbee, NY to Gilbert and Jean (Cutting) Gravelle.

Gilbert proudly served in the United States Air Force.  He also worked at The International Paper Company in Ticonderoga NY retiring after 32 years.  

Known to many as “John”  he enjoyed many things in life such as fishing with his sons and adventuring with his daughter to fun places such as Lake George NY.  He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Nascar while always keeping an eye on the weather. John enjoyed sitting with his cup of coffee and chatting with anyone.  

He is survived by his children Gilbert Gravelle III, Robert (Jennifer) Gravelle, and Gabrielle (Scott) Murawski; his beloved granddaughter Zoey Murawski; his beautiful sisters Janice Maas, JoAnn Moyer and Jean (Francis) Breed and his roommate Amy Paquette.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Jean Gravelle, his brother James Curtiss Gravelle, his infant son John Oliver “Jack” Gravelle and his grandson Xzavier Alan Francisco.  

Given the Covid crisis a service will be held at a later date.
