Frank J. Wojewodzic

Frank J. Wojewodzic, 92, of 244 Whitney Street Port Henry, NY passed away at his home on May 24, 2020.
He was born on October 4, 1927, the son of John Wojewodzic and Mary (Yurasek) and stepmother Catherine. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and a Life Member of the Port Henry Knights of Columbus Council 384.
Frank was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Upon his discharge from the service, he married Sophia (Rouba) of Witherbee, New York on August 28, 1949. They have been married for 71 years.
Frank was employed by the Republic Steel Company in Mineville and Buffalo, New York. After retiring from Republic Steel, he worked for the Lake Champlain Bridge Commission, as a toll collector. When the toll commission was dissolved, he finished his working years at the NYS Department of Transportation retiring in 1990.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and storytelling, especially to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and anyone else who was around.
Frank was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers John, Walter and Stanley, and two sisters, Mary King and Frances Uss.
Survivors include his wife, Sophia; two children, Patty (Chuck) Kolodzey of Port Henry and Joe Wojewodzic of Burlington, Vermont; five grandchildren, Karen (Mark) Kirsch, Kris (Dave) Allen, Jessie (Dan) Benoit, Holly (Rick) Anderson, Marci (Adam) Rheaume; and 7 great grandchildren.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 384 or the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
