Eric S. Woods

Eric Scott Woods, 38, of Mooers, NY, passed away suddenly on June 12, 2020.

He was born on July 31, 1981, grew up in Moriah, NY and graduated from Moriah Central School. Eric later attended SUNY Plattsburgh and earned his masters degree in English.

Over the years, Eric worked as a teacher, tutor, counselor, and supervisor at the Ganienkeh Smoke Shop. In January, 2020, he finally was realizing his dreams when he opened Elevate ADK Nutrition with his sister. He truly loved being a nutrition coach and tea-ologist.

Eric was an avid outdoorsman who loved animals, especially his Black Lab, Charlotte. He enjoyed traveling, exploring other religions and cultures, but will be remembered most for his contagious smile, his humor, generosity, and sincere love for making people happy.

He is survived by his parents, Jody Haire (mother), Timmy Woods (father), Michael Haire (stepfather), Carol Smith(grandmother), 3 sisters, Courtney (Rod) Stockmar, Ashli Woods (Jason Joslyn), Danielle (Eli) Larock and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid 19, there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11AM at the South Moriah cemetery, Moriah, NY. Masks are required.
