Douglas E. Allen

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Douglas E. Allen on June 27, 2025.  

Born May 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Levi and Lillian (Dougherty) Allen. 

Dad graduated from Crown Point Central School in 1961.  He went on to further his education at Paul Smith’s College and then graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh and became a high school math and science teacher at CPCS for over 30 years. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Levi Allen Jr. and Ronald Allen. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lori Mosher (Fred Witz), Doug Allen(Nicole), Natalie Allen, Jon Allen(Shyra); grandchildren Corrin Allen, Rudolf Vorsteveld, Kiera and Mara Allen and Callie and Gabbie Allen and his long time companion Judy Stock. 

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and trapping, especially with longtime friends Jim Russell, Larry Collins and Bud Putnam.  He loved nature and walking in the woods.  Dad enjoyed the game of golf whether he was playing or watching on TV.  In his later years, he enjoyed being part of the logging crew of his son’s business Allen Timber Harvesting.   He truly cherished time spent with family. 

Friends are invited to call on Doug’s family Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 5-7pm at the Harland Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11am at White Church Cemetery.
