Donald C. Varmette, 89, of Crown Point, NY passed away October 9, 2024, at his home.

He was born July 7, 1935, in Ticonderoga, NY, the son of the late Glen and Hazel (Mattra) Varmette.

On October 1, 1960, Donald married Vivian Bemis. Together they raised two children, Gary and Robin, in their home in Crown Point.

Donald worked at International Paper in Ticonderoga for 45 1/2 years. He served in the National Guard for 6 years and was active duty in the Army for 2 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is predeceased by his daughter Robin, a brother and 4 sisters.

Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vivian; his son Gary (Karen) and his grandchildren Brooke, Greggary and Dana.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 16th, at 10:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church in Crown Point. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Crown Point.
