David Gayton Obituary

David John Gayton, 65, passed away on November 15, 2025, held in the hearts and love of his family. Born in Ticonderoga, NY on April 19, 1960, David grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors, family and the simple joys of life. David grew up in Crown Point and graduated from Crown Point High School. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army serving as a dedicated Paratrooper. After his service, he built a career in Southern California as the owner of DJG Construction. His attention to detail, fairness and skillset earned him a glowing reputation within his community. Around town Dave was known for his witty one liners, double cheek kisses and hearty laugh. He treasured the time he spent with his sons Derek and Hunter. His heart and soul lives with them. A true outdoorsman, David loved hunting, fishing, and spending quality time at Camp. Dave was happiest when surrounded by his special friends and family. Sharing stories by the campfire or enjoying the quiet woods, it was the outdoors where he felt most at home.

David is survived by his beloved son Hunter W. Gayton, his Mother Patricia Ingalls, his 5 sisters Kathy Gayton, Shyhra (Brian) Bennett, Patricia (Joe) Ingalls, Donna (Eric) Carpenter, Lindy (Eugene) Elbert; his brother Shawn Ingalls, and many beloved nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his son Derek James Gayton; his father James Frederick Gayton and brothers Thomas Walter Gayton and James Patrick Gayton.
