Darlene Budwick

Darlene Raymond Budwick passed peacefully on June 25, 2022 at her home in Port Henry.

    She was born on September 1, 1940 in Twin Lakes, Idaho. She grew up in Spokane, Washington and moved to New York with her husband, Clifford "Frog" Raymond. Here she raised her children and spent her remaining years.

    Darlene was an amazing person and very much loved. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her fiance, John Evens, her son, Clifford Raymond, daughters, Marie Rodriguez (Dean Sharrow), Robin (John Martinez), and Laurie Raymond. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. 

    Darlene was pre-deceased by two infant daughters, Eva and Tammy, her husband, Frog Raymond, and her granddaughter, Toni Lynn Rodriguez.

    Most will remember her as the tall, beautiful lady that cooked them delicious meals. From her start at the St. Frederik Hotel, Darlene worked 41 years as a dinner cook, often being referred to as one of the best cooks in the North Country.

    Darlene was a beautiful soul who loved completely: her family, her friends, and the numerous animals she rescued, especially her dog, Emmy. Her faith in God was an inspiration to all of us.

    The family would like to thank High Peaks Hospice for the wonderful care Mom received and the support they provided for all of us. A very special thank you to John Evens. His love and devotion to Mom allowed us to honor her wishes to be at home until she passed.

    Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry from 2:00-3:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at the South Moriah Cemetary.

    The family asks that any donations be made in Mom's name to the Ticonderoga Animal Hospital to assist Ti Alley Cats in their work with stray animals.
