Obituary

Daniel Arnold LaFountain, 73 years old, peacefully passed away September 1st, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Daniel was born on June 25th, 1950 to Leon and Blanche LaFountain. He was a lifelong resident of Crown Point, NY. He was a graduate of Crown Point Central School. He married his soulmate, the love of his life, Sharon LaFountain and they had four children: Paula, Daniel, Scott, and Jennifer. He worked for Gunnison Orchards for over 30 years alongside his wife.

An avid 49ers fan, Daniel never missed a game and proudly wore all of his 49ers fan gear. He loved fishing, gardening, camping, and the outdoors. In the spring he could be found outside by the fire boiling sap for maple syrup. While Dan was truly the happiest at home, he did enjoy trips around the country with his family. Above all else, he loved nothing more than spending time with his forever love Sharon, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his large extended family. Daniel was a stubborn, fiery frenchman known for being quick tempered; quick to ignite, but quicker to love. He was fiercely loyal, protective, a prankster, a little goofy at times, and above all else he was the most devoted husband, father, and poppy.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Thatcher) and his children Paula (Joe) Norton, Daniel (Alice) LaFountain, Scott (Rebecca) LaFountain, and Jennifer (Noah) Raymond; his grandchildren Jacob, Alyssa, Isaac, Paul, Alex, Emerald, Abigail, Jared, Colby, Hannah, Violet, and Ember; his great grandchildren Hayden, Paxton, Brenett, Xander, Henry, Jaxson, and Emilia. On the day of his passing the family was gifted, under a rare blue moon with the most recent great grandchild, a beautiful baby girl, Oaklynn. Daniel was also survived by his sister Yvonne (Arthur) Rich, James (Thelma) LaFountain, and many nieces and nephews.

Daniel was predeceased by his parents Leon and Blanche LaFountain, his sister Lorraine Joiner, and his brother Dennis LaFountain.
