Craig Irving Genier, 63, of Plattsburgh N.Y., formerly of Mineville, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021, in Burlington, Vermont after a short illness with his sisters by his side. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y. to Irving J. and Etola (Colburn) Genier (deceased).
Craig served in the Air Force for 4 years, being stationed in Guam and discharged in 1981.He worked at Standard Register for many years before returning to school to become a welder. He worked on many projects around the area. He loved hunting and fishing. He became a certified Adirondack Guide. He was happiest in the woods. Craig was a kind and gentle soul and loved his and friends’ animals. He was a true friend to many.
He is survived by 3 siblings, Rowena Genier of Plattsburgh, Linden Genier of Elizabethtown and Julie (Genier) and Rocky Kramer of Cadyville. He is also survived by 2 nephews; Daniel and Amy Killeen and Dalton Kramer, and 1 niece; Kaitlin and Harrison Clodgo. He is also survived by many special friends.
Services will be private. As Craig had a great love of animals and any donations in his memory can be made to the Elmore SPCA in Peru or the North Country SPCA in Elizabethtown, NY.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, New York.
