Obituary

Cory Lee Charboneau, 48, of Schroon Lake, passed away unexpectedly in his home on December, 24th 2020.

Born to Ramona Jordan and John F. Charboneau on May 10th 1972, Cory was the youngest of 8 siblings.

After graduating from Crown Point Central School in 1990, Cory enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served honorably in the Marines for 12 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. In his years of service, Cory worked as an engineer equipment operator. Following a tour in Japan, Cory was deployed to Iraq for Operation Desert Storm. Through his years of service Cory earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (w/ 2 stars), National Defense Service Metal (w/ 1 star), Sea Service Deployment ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation (w/ 2 stars), and Meritorious Master Rifle Qualifications (Expert-3rd Award) before he was honorably discharged in 2003. Upon retiring, Cory returned home to New York to be close to family and raise his daughter.

In his retirement, he kept himself busy working on numerous projects either around the house or with others in the community. Cory was a man of many talents and he was always eager to lend a hand wherever possible. He was also an avid music lover, dancing and singing to practically anything playing. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Cory loved many things in this world, but above all he loved his family. While many people bring a dish to share at family functions, Cory brought the entertainment, laughter, and outgoing spirit.

Cory is preceded in death by his father, John F Charboneau. He is survived by his daughter, Megen Charboneau, his mother, Ramona Jordan, his five brothers, John O’Hara, Shawn Charboneau , James O’Hara, Kevin O’Hara, Bernard Jordan Jr. , and his two sisters, Maureen Croft, and Melanie Jordan. Along with many nieces and nephews.
